Simone Mariposa is an LA native/Atlanta-based content creator, birth doula, actor, TV host, improvisor, inspirer and body liberation activist who’s making waves in the world of fashion, media, advocacy and body positivity. She started blogging in 2016 and, in that same year, created the world-renowned hashtag #WeWearWhatWeWant. Her inspiring works has been featured in Cosmopolitan, Essence, Nylon, Teen Vogue, Refinery, and many more publications. She was also a member of two house improv teams at Upright Citizens Brigade LA, a comedy school founded by four comedy greats, among which is Amy Poehler. Simone is a former co-host for the show Shades of Beauty on LATV network, as well as a trained birth doula under Kindred Space LA, a black owned midwifery clinic. She subsequently graduated from the AAIMM (African American Infant and Maternal Mortality) Doulas Mentorship Program under Los Angeles County, and she is a currently a doula under the Atlanta Doula Collective, the only group of doulas in the Atlanta area that primarily serves black women and their families. She is passionate about a creating positive realistic representation of plus size people within media, advocating for those who’ve lost their voices, and leaving an impact on the world.
My goal is to share my life experiences in order to inspire and guide others as they continue on their own journeys to happiness, confidence, and overall wellness!
